The US secretary of state, Antony Blinken, said it could be the ‘best and last opportunity’ to get hostages held in Gaza home and secure a ceasefire as he arrived in Israel on a diplomatic mission. After landing in Tel Aviv, Blinken was quoted as saying that it was a ‘decisive moment’ for the negotiations.
