Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson are reportedly going their separate ways.
The couple has called off their engagement and split for good, according to Daily Mail on Friday.
A source told the outlet that the Coldplay artist, 47, has “now accepted the relationship is over and it’s best to move on” after seven years with the “Madame Web” actress, 34.
Despite vast efforts to work through their issues, the stars are reportedly done for good.
The insider continued, “Chris and Dakota have tried desperately hard over the past few months to make their relationship work. They’ll always have love for each other but they’ve both come to the conclusion the relationship cannot be sustained long-term.”
As for the reason behind their breakup? The insider claimed, “They’re both busy people, Chris has been in Europe with Coldplay and they both have personal priorities, passions and work commitments which don’t naturally intertwine with each other.”
“They wanted it to work but it just hasn’t,” they noted, “and they’ve now accepted it is best to move on.”
The Post has reached out to Martin and Johnson’s reps for comment.
Johnson has attended several Coldplay concerts over the years, but as Martin rocks out in Munich, Germany, on the European leg of his Music of the Spheres world tour, she opted to stay local.
Last week, the “Fifty Shades of Grey” actress was photographed walking her dog in Malibu, California — where she and Martin once lived together — sans her emerald engagement ring.
Meanwhile, Johnson and the musician have had their fair share of hardships since getting together in 2017.
In 2019, the pair allegedly broke up because Martin wanted to have children; however, they reconciled soon after.
This past June, the two were said to have secretly split up briefly before quickly getting back together.
However, that same month, a source told People they were still “going strong,” explaining, “They’ve had ups and downs, but now they’re definitely back on.”
Johnson, the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, was last seen with Martin during a February trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where they were pictured on the beach.
They started dating three years after Martin and his ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, “consciously uncoupled” before finalizing their divorce in 2015.
The 51-year-old Goop founder and the frontman share two kids: daughter Apple, 20, and son Moses, 18. In the past, Paltrow has been vocal about her love for their blended family.
“I love her,” she gushed to Harper’s Bazaar in 2020 about Johnson. “I can see how it would seem weird because it’s sort of unconventional. But I think, in this case, just having passed through it iteratively, I just adore her. I always start to think of the ampersand sign—what else can you bring in, instead of being resistant to or being made insecure by? There’s so much juice in leaning in to something like that.”
